Sources, references, and RefWorks

You must be absolutely clear about where and when your writing is based on the knowledge of others. You do so by quoting and referring to you sources correctly.

You must learn how to state your sources correctly:

• to specify clearly and accurately which works you are referring to, so others can locate the exact source
• to avoid plagiarism

RefWorks is a reference management tool that can be of great help for handling sources and compiling a bibliography. AAU has a RefWorks license, so you can use the programme free of charge.
